Preparing for Bioclear
Your Consultation
During your initial appointment, we discuss your goals, review photos, and assess gum health, bite, and enamel. If you have active gum disease or cavities, we’ll address those first. Healthy foundations make Bioclear look better and last longer.
Before Your Appointment
At home, use a soft brush and gentle toothpaste. If your gums bleed when you floss, let us help reduce inflammation before treatment. If you clench or grind, we’ll plan a custom nightguard to protect your new restorations.
Professional cleaning will be performed to remove plaque and stains so our bond is pristine.
Day of Treatment
Eat a light meal (at least a couple of hours before your appointment), avoid heavy caffeine, and arrive with brushed teeth. We’ll take “before” photos so you can see the transformation.
What to Expect During Your Bioclear Visit
- Comfort first: We gently numb as needed. Many cases are so conservative that patients feel only light pressure.
- Isolation and precision: We place clear, anatomically shaped matrices around the teeth. Heated, high-strength composite is injected and molded to wrap and reinforce the tooth with no aggressive drilling or removal of healthy enamel.
- Sculpting and polishing: We refine your bite and polish it to a glass-like finish. You’ll leave with teeth that look and feel natural (the same day in most cases).
Bioclear Aftercare
The First 24-48 Hours Afterward
Your restorations are fully functional when you leave. You can eat right after your treatment, just be cautious with chewing. For some patients, Bioclear changes their bite, and they have to start off eating slowly with soft foods before working up to solid foods.
Lukewarm saltwater rinses (with two teaspoons of salt and 8oz of warm water) help keep your mouth clean and clear of food.
Today’s composites are stain-resistant. So if you consume intense pigments (coffee, red wine, curry) in the first 24 hours, just rinse with water after.
Also, take over-the-counter acetaminophen or ibuprofen to ease any soreness after your visit.
Mild temperature sensitivity or gum soreness is normal and fades quickly. If your bite feels off once the numbness wears off, call us and we can make a quick adjustment.

Bioclear Maintenance
What to Do at Home
- Brush twice daily with a soft brush and a low-abrasion toothpaste. Avoid gritty “whitening” pastes that can dull the shine over time.
- Floss gently every day. Slide floss through the contact rather than “popping” it. If it catches, pull it out through the side to protect the margins. Water flossers (or waterpiks) work well in areas where black triangles were closed.
- Don’t chew ice, bite pens, or use teeth as tools. If you grind at night, wear your custom nightguard.
